(Grey Skies Over Mandela County) Alpha 2 Info

Hello all!

Progress on 'The Invasion' / Alpha 2 is going good. Reception of the release of Alpha 1.0.0 and 1.1.0 was great for my standards. Never had a game reach as many people as it did in such a short period of time, and to that I am very grateful. 

For those of you tuning in to this from the 'New and Popular' Devlogs tab or if you are unaware...

Grey Skies Over Mandela County is a first-person, PSX horror game inspired by the YouTube series "The Mandela Catalogue." You play as a person who experiences several different alternate encounters. The first level, The Warehouse, is out right now if you would like to give it a try. If you have any suggestions for the game, be sure to post them in the community page I opened for the game. Just scroll down on the download page and click 'Post New Topic.' And be sure to follow my account, because I plan on posting more development logs just like these.

Here's what you can expect in the next update:

-Level 2: 'The Invasion'

-A new pause menu with fully customizable options

-Tweaks and some other small changes to 'The Warehouse'

-'How to Play' menu in the 'Extras' tab

-Possibly an achievements system with collectibles to go with it (no promises on this one, might be delayed to 2.1.0 or 2.2.0)

-Save system

Speaking of the save system, it will mainly be used in conjunction with the achievements system. I have made the decision to not lock levels behind a progression system since I think that people should be able to play which ever level they want in case they get stuck or bored playing the same level.

Here we have the all-new double-barrel shotgun inside the house level. 

Here's an outside shot looking up at the moon. Might change the skybox to be darker. Let me know in the post comments if you think that's a good idea. Keep in mind that there will be parts of the level that are outside.

Here's an outside shot looking at the house. Still need to do some work on the surrounding terrain to make it look nice.
